Петър Одажиев | Petar Odazhiev

I’m Petar Odazhiev, a Bulgarian-American artist, photographer, and writer based in New York City. I’m currently pursuing my MFA in Photography at Parsons School of Design, where I focus on language, memory, ritual, and abjection through self-portraiture, large-format photography, video, and procedural text.

My work blends Eastern Orthodox mysticism, post-Communist residue, and digital aesthetics. I also run OdaWAY Lab, a creative studio and consultancy merging visual art, fitness, and research.

Clients and collaborators include SiriusXM, The New School, Sunrise Movement, Sustainable Tompkins, Magic Shop Lenses, Crazy Island Windsurf, and more. I’ve worked across studios, galleries, and editorial spaces as a photographer, designer, and studio manager.

Born in Sofia, raised in New York, I live and work between Queens and Brooklyn.

..so farewell, sad sigh;
And come instead demurest meditation,
To occupy me wholly, and to fashion
My pilgrimage for the world’s dusty brink.
